What is an Endocrinologist?
We hope you find the information in the following links helpful.
An endocrinologist is a doctor who has been trained to diagnose and manage diseases that affect the glands and hormones.
An endocrinologist aims to restore hormone balance within the body's systems.
Endocrinologists commonly treat the following conditions:
Diabetes
Metabolic Disorders
Thyroid Diseases
Osteoporosis
Menopause
Excessive or insufficient Production of Hormones
Sometimes a lump (nodule) in the thyroid raises concern for cancer.
In that instance, we place a small needle (smaller than the needle they use to draw blood from your arm) into the thyroid under ultrasound guidance. There is some discomfort, but most patients tolerate it very well.
I've been told I need a thyroid biopsy, does it hurt?
